We wanted to provide cadet families, friends and campus visitors some information regarding visiting campus the last few days of school. In order to serve everyone’s needs as well as possible, and expedite travel on and off campus, we are designating specific parking areas throughout the last few days of the school year.
- We will have staff members located at key entryways and near designated parking areas to assist visitors.
- The front gate will not be open for arriving vehicle traffic. Please proceed to Pettit Foster which is the road in front of Jacobson Hall.
- Please note that the fields near the front of campus closest to the baseball field are open to parking at any time. If you are travelling south on RT 15, the entrance is on your left, about ¼ of a mile prior to the front gate.
- Visitors travelling to campus who require accessible parking should display their DMV provided documentation for events on campus.
- Thursday (5/25/17): Middle School families will be directed to park in the field adjacent to Jacobson Hall, closest to Echo Company.
- Families visiting for the Awards Ceremony will park in the field adjacent to Jacobson Hall.
- Friday (5/26/17): Please be prepared to let our parking staff know what Company your cadet resides in. Families arriving to pick up their cadet and gear will be directed according to the cadet’s Company. Charlie and Echo families will park on the field adjacent to Jacobson Hall toward the front of campus. Bravo families will park in the grassy area adjacent to Bravo and in the grassy area next to the outdoor basketball courts.
- Saturday (5/27/17): Visitors arriving for the 0830 Baccalaureate Ceremony will be directed to parking as they arrive. There will be limited space near Wicker Chapel.
- Members of the Army Band will be directed to a parking area near the graduation field.
- Graduation visitors will directed to parking near the front of campus near Jacobson Hall.
For families planning to travel to Fork Union via US Route 6 West from Richmond, through Goochland County, there is road work scheduled along that route for this week, so you will need to allow for extra time in your travels as there may be traffic stoppages from time to time.
We look forward to seeing you when you visit campus.
